Questions
What people ask before they hire a water heater plumber
How do I know you are licensed?
The license number is in the footer of every page, with the board that issued it. You can look it up with the board.
What size heater do I need?
It depends on the people and baths in the house and on how they use hot water. The home page has a sizing picker, and the visit confirms it.
Tank or tankless?
A tank is simpler and easier to repair. A tankless heats as you use it, but needs the right gas line and vent. In Fargo we size either one for January water.
What does the visit cost, and what does it cover?
The visit looks at the heater, the vent, the gas line or circuit and the way in. It has a fee, and the fee comes off the job if you hire us. The pricing page has the details.
Do nights and weekends cost more?
Yes. We give you the after-hours rate on the phone, before anyone is sent.
Will I get a price before you start?
Yes, in writing. If we find something new when the old heater comes out, we stop and ask before we add to it.
How long will it take?
A tank swap is usually a morning. A tankless install or a change of fuel takes longer, and we tell you before we begin.
Do you pull permits?
Where your city asks for one, we pull it, and it is its own line on the estimate.
Repair or replace?
If the tank is sound and the part is small, repair. If the tank itself leaks, or it is old and has failed twice, we say replace and show you why.
Is my house at risk from hard water?
Fargo-area water runs hard. It leaves scale in tanks and tankless heaters. A flush, and sometimes a softener, keeps it in check.
What about old pipes near the heater?
A water heater swap does not touch the pipes in your walls. If we see corroded or leaking pipes near the heater, we show you and tell you what we saw.
What are your hours and where do you work?
Weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday morning, in Cass County, North Dakota. The service area page lists the towns.
Your question is not here?
Call or send it. A person reads every message during office hours.
